    St. Mark’s “New” Newsletter

WE HOPE YOU LIKE OUR NEW LOOK!  As an initial step to restart our parish newsletter, our weekly mass folder “announcement section” has now been updated to showcase our new “St. Mark’s Messenger” newsletter.  We are taking this step to have an official vehicle for communicating parish  news and events to our entire church family and community.  If you have newsworthy items that you would like to include in this new weekly newsletter portion of the mass folder, please contact our
Administrative Assistant, Josie Largacha.



TO ALL OUR VISITORS, FRIENDS, AND MEMBERS:  Welcome to worship at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, a multicultural, all-inclusive ecumenical ministry to the community.  You are encouraged to join us for refreshments following worship today.  THE MUSIC LEADERSHIP TEAM met this past Tuesday evening, March 21, 7:00 PM.  Beautiful and meaningful worship events are being planned for the upcoming Holy Days and Easter season.  Please consider inviting someone to church for the Holy Week and Easter celebrations.

CHRISTIAN EDUCATION, SPIRITUAL SUPPORT & EVANGELISM, AND PROPERTY MEETING will be holding their first meeting this Tuesday, March 28, 7:00 PM.  Fr. David is requesting as many people as possible to assist in these areas of ministry and consider coming to this week’s meeting.  The Christian Education committee will be reviewing ideas for offering a wide range of Christian Education opportunities for both young people and adults. The Spiritual Support & Evangelism committee will be discussing innovative ideas to bring new people to church through witnessing opportunities, outreach, advertising, developing brochures, and utilizing web site and technology resources.  Property committee will concentrate on property projects needing attention around the church.  If you have gifts or interests in any of these areas, please consider   becoming part of the “team.


Prayer Requests

Please continue to pray for our members and friends. Those individuals needing  prayer are listed under the “Family Prayer” section in our mass folder each week.

WAKE AND FUNERAL ANNOUNCMENT: We hold Vanessa, Jacob, and Penny Perry in our special thoughts and prayers this weekend as the family grieves the loss of Vanessa’s mother who passed away this past Sunday, March 19th in Los Angeles, CA.   The Wake has been scheduled for today and the funeral tomorrow. We pray that God will grant comfort and peace to the entire family as they go through this difficult time but also celebrate the life and the resurrection of their loved one.

Current Events


St. Mark's will hold its fourth Bible Study Hour

Devotional next Wednesday.  This Bible Study will continue each Wednesday in Lent.   The

devotional hour will begin at 7:00 PM.  Coffee and a light snack will be served each week. Please come for this special time of fellowship, prayer, and devotions. 


AN EVENING DIALOGUE SPONSORED BY THE FLORIDA-BAHAMAS SYNOD OF THE E.L.C.A. AND THE ARCHDIOCESE OF MIAMI will be held on Monday, March 27th  in the Chapel of Saint Thomas University, 16401 NW 37th Avenue, Miami Gardens, FL at 7:00 PM.  This event entitled “Healing Christian Divisions” is being held to commemorate the 500th Anniversary of the Reformation and will feature a lecture by Dr. John Borelli of Georgetown University and Bishop Donald McCoid of the Lutheran World Federation.


Happy Birthday Celebration During Fellowship Hour

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO FAMILY AND FRIENDS: On April 2nd, we will be beginning a new   tradition here at St. Marks.  On the first Sunday of every month, we will officially greet those  individuals who celebrate their birthday on any given month with a special Happy Birthday song  during  fellowship hour.  Please assist our Administrative Assistant by making sure she has your correct   birthday month on file.  Thank you!
